The Team
Mark Pizarro
Graduated on July 12th 1990 from the Royal (Dick) Veterinary School which is part of Edinburgh University and went into practice in Paddock Wood, Kent into a mainly small animal practice although there was some equine work. After gaining valuable experience there he moved to a locum job in London for several months before returning to work in Gibraltar in December 1992.
Since this he has strived to provide the best veterinary care to the community. In fourteen years of practice on average he has been on call for 330 days in every year, a more dedicated servant to the pets of Gibraltar there has never been.
Mark is your old fashioned veterinary practitioner whose wealth of knowledge and experience can be turned to almost any veterinary scenario, however he does know his limitations and where necessary or where he feels someone can do a better job he will refer clients.
Eva Perez
Eva Perez joined us in 2013, a Veterinary Surgeon who studied in Cordoba University and qualified in 2009, she had also previously qualified with a PhD in Biochemistry in 2005 but her love for animals drew her into our world. Eva then worked for various Veterinary Clinics until she was discovered by us and has now become a vital component of our team. She is an avid animal rights activist and actively helps re-home anything with more than two legs. She is now studying once more to achieve a General Practitioner Certificate in Feline Practice. More experience and knowledge to add to our ever growing team.
Mary Cumming Gomez
Mary Cumming Gomez has been working for The Animal Welfare Centre and The Gibraltar Veterinary since 1994. She is the Practice Manager/Administrator for both Companies.
Although Mary does not work directly with animals she likes to keep in close contact with them. She finds this extremely gratifying as Mary adores animals.
Sabrina Verjaque
Sabrina Verjaque works as a veterinary nurse/receptionist and has been working for us since 1995. Sabrina adores her job and enjoys being part of the team she works with at the clinic. Her favourite part of this rewarding career is caring for the sick animals and helping them to get well again.
Elke Aldorino
Elke Aldorino joined the team at the clinic in February 2005. She started out by helping in the boarding kennels, and then moved on to nursing duties. She really enjoys working with animals especially the sick ones, who need a lot of care until they become well again. Elke also likes to find nice homes for those pets that are brought in either as strays or for re-homing. She finds this very rewarding as she watches them leave with their new families.
Rose Bossino
Rose Bossino has been working with us since 1983. Rose originally came from Ireland but settled in Gibraltar many years ago, she works as a kennel keeper caring for the pets that come in for boarding and those that are for re-homing. Rose takes great pride in her job and ensures that all the animals are happy and well cared for.
Abdeslam El Habali
Abdeslam or "ABE" as we like to call him has been with us for a few years now and as a father of 10 he has the knowledge of how to take care of the defenceless! A diligent worker and a proven jack of all trades he has made a great addition to our team. ABE had never worked with animals before but his new career seems to fit him like a glove.
Katrina Fabre
Katrina has worked for us in the past and after a long stint away she decided that she was missing and the animals so much that she had to come back to work. Obviously well experienced in the handling of dogs and cats she also used to work at the Gibraltar Kennel Club and organised various international dog shows for them over the course of 20 years.
Samuel Baena Sánchez
Samuel Baena Sánchez just recently joined us in September 2014 and is studying Veterinary Nursing. He is a keen and enthusiastic, eager to learn and helpful. He has a bright future with us and is adapting nicely to the team.
Debbie Torres
Debbie Torres is our latest addition and our friendly face at the ICC clinic. With us since the beginning of October 2014, she is already showing signs of being a valuable addition to the team.
